The story behind the constructions

In 2009 the local wood yard in Herne Bay gave me a small piece of plywood to paint on.

It had the foreman’s written calculations and measurements on its surface.

This inspired and was the beginning of my use of a ready- made form,

evolving into constructions incorporating found and created objects.

At this time the words Zero and Null were frequent media and

social network names referring to Britain’s preoccupation

with its economic situation.

It was the year Zero Nine.
